Snowy Forest Engagement in the North Cascades | James + Kelly

This was a shoot that almost didn’t happen because of the snow. I had planned to meet up with James and Kelly at a trailhead north of Seattle, but about halfway down the bumpy, deeply snowed in dirt road it became very clear to all of us that there was no way we’d make it all the way to the trail. Luckily, they were so flexible and down for a backup plan. I was able to scout out a small clearing by the water where they could set up a little picnic and hang out while their dog Ophelia explored. We saw some huge eagles, shared some whiskey and enjoyed the scenery - it was so peaceful. We spent the rest of the shoot in the trees with the sun pouring through - magical 🌞 I’m so happy with how this shoot turned out, despite the change of location, and even happier to have had this adventure with these guys. They’re tying the knot on Mt Rainier this summer - can’t wait to share more from their wedding!
