West Seattle Paddleboard Session | Kaylee + Jaxton

Nothing like a photoshoot centered on stand up paddleboarding, with a paddleboard that immediately deflates and sinks. πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ πŸ˜‚ Sighhhhh. So this shoot had many lives before it came to be. It was the closest the moon would be to earth all year, and I had this idea to do a session with a couple swimming under this big beautiful supermoon. When I went to scout my location, it became very clear that it was WAY too cold to ask my couple to 1) stick around late enough for the moon to actually rise high enough to light the water and 2) swim in freezing water at midnight. So the idea evolved into a golden hour SUP session, and I was lucky enough to have a couple totally willing to go with the flow and have fun with it! Thank god, because 5 minutes into our shoot, my inflatable stand up paddleboard decided it had enough and would rather sink than float πŸ˜‚ At this point we were all crying laughing, and the sad little board did the best it could but ultimately we just ended up splashing around in the water and letting the board finish it’s slow collapse back on shore. I’m so happy with the photos we did end up getting, and thankful for a couple that just went for it and laughed with me when everything went awry!
